After many starts and stops Olga was finally given the opportunity to write her official letter to agree to adoption. The meeting went very well and afterward we were able to spend the rest of the day with our girl. We spent a long time outside on what can only be described as a very narrow skating rink. The kids at the school have an area outside to play and apparently one of their favorite activities is repeatedly sliding over a long, narrow area until it turns into a solid sheet of ice. Then they take a running start and slide from one end to the other. Lots of fun and much more difficult to do than it looks. Olga and one of her friends would stand on either side of me, hold my hands and pull me all the way down the path. Then we sat and visited, looked at pictures and played some ping pong. Then it was lunch time (2:00) and Olga had her dance class immediately afterward so we left, came back at 3:30 before we had to leave at 4:00. We will, of course, go back tomorrow.
Our facilitator is hopeful that we will be able to submit our papers to the SDA on Wednesday, 2/9. Sometime after our papers are submitted we will be assigned a court date where Olga will officially be named our daughter. We are hoping to be able to have court sometime around Valentines Day.
Here are some photos from last night and today.

ReplyDeleteIt is like a cold slip and slide. I haven't taken a fall on it yet, but Jeff bit it pretty hard. Good thing his coat is super padded. :)
